BEAM Experiences: Lego Robotics Rovers

(2ND-5TH Grade, Min 8/Max 14)

Build and design real, functioning robots! Each day, students receive a short lesson, followed by guided building time. We will tackle creative team challenges to design and construct robots that automatically react to their environment using motors and sensors. Our robots will use echolocation to detect objects, react to obstacles that they bump into, and follow colored paths with light sensors. The session ends with an awesome battle-bot tournament! Note: coding is not the primary focus of this class - students will be troubleshooting robotic behaviors with hands-on engineering activities.

Bilingual Kids Seattle: Spanish Language!

(K-5TH Grade, Min 10/Max 18)

Students will learn and practice the second most common language in the U.S., after English. From its importance in the workplace to its impact on global culture, learning Spanish is a decision that can open doors and enrich lives. Students will also benefit from language learner outcomes such as a) support for higher academic achievement and the development of cognitive skills and b) a greater global understanding of our world and access to another culture to see things from a new perspective. This is an immersion class consisting of a section of language instruction in an academic setting and a section of Arts & Crafts activities in Spanish that provides a fun environment to practice and learn new words in real context.

Chessmates: Chess Club

(1ST-5TH Grade, Min 6/Max 14)

Join the chess club! Learn tactics and strategies of chess, solve chess puzzles, and play the game with your friends! Knowledge of chess moves recommended.

HOFTC: Choose Your Own Adventure

(K-5TH Grade, Max 8)

Would your child like to join friends for an organized active game led by one of our experienced counselors? Would they prefer to play an indoor board game or card game? How about solo time to color or work on homework? Maybe they just need some less-structured free-time on the playground or field (rain or shine!) after school to burn off excess energy and engage in free play. We offer all of those options! Choose Your Own Adventure allows each child to recharge after school in their own way, without screens and with proper supervision.

Musical Minds: Piano Keyboard Club

(1ST-5TH Grade, Min 7/Max 16)

The club is a combination of keyboard piano lessons and a music learning workshop, which uses a clever visual method to teach the basics of music reading and piano playing. We've developed lots of learning games and activities designed to teach kids basic music reading skills and playing techniques, in ways that are fun, engaging, and stimulating. We want our students to stay motivated and continue to want to learn to play music, whether they like Taylor Swift or Beethoven. We have all the music they want. We have music from Stars Wars, Jurassic World, Moana, Wicked, KPOP Demon Hunters and lots more. Each participant has his/her own keyboard supplied during the class, along with headphones, and books and other materials are included. This session is for both brand new students AND more advanced students.

Light Up Youth Theatre: Acting 101

(3RD-5TH Grade, Min 8/Max 20)

In Acting 101, students will dive into the exciting world of acting through drama games, improv exercises, character building, and scene work. Actors will work on fun monologues, scenes with partners, and group scenes from plays, stories, and tv/movies, such as Matilda, Shrek, Moana, and others. Actors will also learn about costumes, props, and set, which will be provided for the final day, when students will be able to share their scenes and monologues with families in a short showcase performance.

Level Up Futbol: Youth Soccer

(K-2ND Grade, Min 12/Max 15)

Join Level Football for a fun, engaging after-school soccer program designed to help players build confidence, develop their skills, and grow their love for the game! Throughout the program, students will participate in age-appropriate activities and smallsided games focused on four key areas of soccer development: dribbling & ball mastery, passing & receiving, aerial control, and shooting & finishing. Each session combines technical instruction with fun challenges and game-based learning, giving players opportunities to practice new skills and apply them in realistic soccer situations. Our curriculum is designed for all experience levels, providing an environment where beginners can learn the fundamentals while experienced players continue to challenge themselves. Players will finish the program with improved technical ability, confidence, decision-making, teamwork, and a greater understanding of the game—all while staying active and having fun with their classmates!

Ropeworks: Learn to Jump Rope

(2ND-5TH Grade, Min 15/Max 40)

Jump into fun with Ropeworks! Class is designed for kids of all skill levels—from brand-new beginners learning the basics to experienced jumpers ready for new tricks and challenges. Led by experienced, high-quality instructors, this energetic class helps kids build confidence, coordination, fitness, and friendships through the joy of jump rope. Students will explore a variety of jump rope skills and activities, including: Single Rope Skills, Partner & Buddy Jumping, Long Rope & Group Jumping, Double Dutch, and Creative Routines & Challenges. Each class includes warm-up games, skill-building, guided practice, teamwork activities, and plenty of high-energy jumping. Students are encouraged to set goals, try new things, and celebrate improvement at every level.
